From recycling cardboard into furniture to higher technology attempts at going green

SOLAR PANELS!

October 2006 - The final leaks seem to be stopped and the new panels plus metres of lagging are now up and running. The new tank is double the normal size but the temperature rise has been significant - from 18 to 32 degress C in 3 hours despite the changeable autumn weather.

HEATING and COOKING

No oil bills. Just collecting wood!

The TIBA is a Swiss creation and certainly works as a terrific boiler. In winter when it is not too cold we start the fire in the afternoon. It then heats the water (once it has been helped by the solar panels) and can be adjusted to heat the whole house as well as cook the evening meal.
