Practical courses are run at Plum Cottage on Appropriate paper-based technology (APT)

APT courses - Appropriate Paper-based Technology

APT uses basic engineering principles for DIY recyling. Paper and cardboard are pasted together and made into surprisingly strong items of furniture, useful household objects and unique artwork. Chairs and sofas have been in daily use for over 21 years. It is not difficult and items, even large items of furniture can be made in the home. A social enterprise making APT items has a workshop in the village - Paper Furniture Enterprise. The work in done in aid of the charity Cerebral Palsy Africa.
